Release of Tshisekedi

I am a graduate Fellow at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, The University of Texas at Austin. My family lived in Congo/Zaire from 1965-1974. My father Dr Frank Hendrickson was a missionary educator at the Secondary School at Milundu in Bandundu province and Nsona Mpangu in Bas-Congo. We are pleased that Mr Tshisekedi has been released from internal exile. We had fully expected him to receive a leading position in any post-Mobutu govt. We were shocked at the ill-treatment he has received thus far. How may non-Congolese friends of the Congolese people best help our brothers and sisters in their legitimate aspirations for a free, prosperous and democratic Congo?

Sincerely,

Bruce F. Hendrickson

Reply:

Thanks so much for your sympathy for the UDPS and for its leader, Mr Tshisekedi. The UDPS does need help from all its friends. The best way for our non-Congolese friends to help the Congolese people in their aspirations for a free, prosperous and democratic Congo is to get in contact with one of the representatives of the UDPS in North America. Here is a contact adress:

Dr. Ngoyi K. Zacharie Bukonda

The Federal President, Midwest Federation of UDPS-USA

P.O. BOX 193

DeKalb, IL 60115, USA

Telephone: 815-758-2640

E-Mail: ngoyizacharie@juno.com

We are sure that Dr Bukonda will help you help us.
